Google HQ executives!
I was very honored to be contacted directly by Google’s US headquarters. They told me that their executives were going to Tokyo and would love to experience ikebana.
Needless to say, Google is a world-famous company, but they wanted to find out why the tradition of flower arranging continues to live on even though they are at the forefront of the times.
In fact, when they were there I was actually working in Beijing and not in Tokyo!
However, as it was such a wonderful opportunity, I entrusted the workshop in English to two of my excellent disciples.
The location is my atelier in Omotesando.
First, Yoshimi gave a presentation on the history, philosophy, present and future of Ikebana. She gave a detailed presentation on the difficult topic of how the tradition of ikebana continues to live on in modern times.
Next, Ai-chan walked behind and demonstrated her works one after another. Then they tried to arrange Ikebana actually!
As expected, everyone understood quickly and each person completed their free-style flower arrangement in no time.
Afterwards, everyone gave a presentation about their thoughts on their respective works, and their presentations were so cool!
It’s like something out of a movie!
It seems that they were very happy. I am grateful for this valuable opportunity!
